Type: Vegetarian | Side
o 2 cabbage flowers chopped
o 1 onion, chopped finely
o 1 heaped teaspoon of ginger and garlic paste
o 1 cup garden peas
o 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
o 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
o Juice of half lemon
o Salt as per taste
o Bunch of coriander leaves to garnish
o Whole Spices
· ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
· ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
· 1 dried Kashmiri red chilli (optional)
o Powder spices
· Pinch of asafoetida spice
· 1 teaspoon coriander powder
· ¼ teaspoon garam masala
· ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
Cooking
o Add oil in a wok or non-stick pot and once it is hot, add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and dried red chilli (optional ingredient).
o Fry the spices until you hear the mustard seeds splutter.
o Now add the ginger and garlic mince and cook for 2 minutes or so until the raw smell of garlic goes
o Add the onion and cook on medium heat until they turn light golden brown.
o Add the chopped cabbage and the peas and give it a good mix on medium heat.
o Add the spices namely, turmeric and coriander powders and the salt.
o Cook on low heat for approx. 5-7 minutes until the cabbage are cooked.
o Switch off the hob.
o Add the lemon juice and garam masala and give it a good stir.
o Add the coriander leaves as garnish
o Serve!
